About the Resound Appeal
Resound relies on the generosity of donors to provide useable, suitable musical instruments for those in need. This gift can help with recovery by re-establishing a sense of normalcy for a musician, supporting a musician's livelihood, continuing a music student's education and bringing healing to a community through their arts organisations. Every offer of an instrument is greatly appreciated.

Resound was originally established for the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, matching donated musical instruments with affected musicians, schools and music students in Kinglake, Bendigo, Marysville, Steels Creek, Flowerdale, Traralgon, Whittlesea as well to displaced musicians living in Melbourne. Resound received support from the Victorian government, the Music Council of Australia, ABC Classic FM, the Dandenong Ranges Music Council and other music industry groups to make this happen. Resound also responded to the 2011 Queensland floods, working with communities in the Lockyer Valley and Brisbane. For more info, please see the gallery, the article Resound Responds and ABC Classic FM's article Musicians playing their part to help Australian bushfire recovery. In 2020, Resound assisted with the musical recovery of musicians from the NSW North Coast, NSW South Coast, Vic East Gippsland and SA Cudlee Creek regions. Recipients have included individual professional, amateur and student musicians, as well as programs in public schools and private music schools. The 2020 Resound Bushfire Appeal was a recipient of a Community Grant from the Australian Government.
